1943 On June 17th Robert de Niro Jr is born in New York, USA. He is one of the most well known american actors, with a career that lasts for more than 50 years and a number of movies bigger than 90.

1963 The actor gets his first movie role in The Wedding Party.

1973 De Niro becomes famous for playing a professional baseball player in the movie Bang the Drum Slowly. In the same year he starts working with Martin Scorsese for the production of Mean Streets.

1974 The second part of Godfather is released and the role of young Vito Corleone brings De Niro his first Oscar award.

1976 The actor gets another Oscar nomination for his role in Taxi Driver. In the same year he marries Diahnne Abbott.

1980 Robert de Niro wins his second Oscar for playing the boxer Jake la Motta in Raging Bull.

1989 The actor co-founds Tribeca Studios with Jane Rosenthal. Later he will co-found the Tribeca Film Festival.

1993 De Niro makes his directorial start with the movie A Bronx Tale.

1995 He becomes father of twins while having a relationship with model Toukie Smith.

1997 He marries actress Grace Hightower.

1999 The movie Analyze This is released, a comedy in which De Niro plays a gangster who starts going to a psychiatrist.

2000 Meet the Parents is released, another successful comedy in which De Niro plays a father in law for Ben Stiller. The movie has two sequels.

2006 The actor returns to a more dramatic role in The Good Shepherd thriller. He stars in the movie among Angelina Jolie and Matt Damon.

2012 At almost 70 years old, De Niro keeps getting big roles. One of the most recent is the one in Silver Linings Playbook, for which he received many nominations
