1951 On the 21st of July Robin Williams was born at Chicago, Illinois, USA. He was an important American actor and comic being considered one of the American comedy’s geniuses.
1977 He started his career with stand-up shows in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
1978-1982 He became famous because of Mork’s role in TV serial “Mork & Mindy”. Mork became a very popular character so that he also appeared on the cover of “Time” magazine. He continued his activity as a film actor and as a a stand-up comic.
He appeared in screenings like: “Popeye” (1980), “The World According to Garp” (1982), “Good Morning, Vietnam” (1987), “Dead Poets Society” (1989), “Awakenings” (1990), “The Fisher King” (1991) and “Good Will Hunting” (1997) and we mention some of big-budget movies: “Hook” (1991), “Aladdin” (1992), “Mrs. Doubtfire” (1993), “Jumanji” (1955), “The Birdcage” (1996), “Night at the Museum”, Happy Feet” (2006).
1980 At the beginning of ‘80s he got cocaine and alcohol addicted but the death of his friend John Belusi determined him to give up to this vice.
1988 He was Oscar Award nominee for the best actor with the role performed in “Good Morning, Vietnam”.
1990 A new nominalization to Oscar Award for the role in “Dead Poets Society”.
1992 He was again an Oscar Award nominee for the role in “The Fisher King”.
1998 He was given Oscar Award for the best actor of a secondary role in “Good Will Hunting”. He won three Golden Globe prizes, two Screen Actors Guild prizes and three Grammy awards.
2003 After more than 20 years, Williams began to consume alcohol again.
2006 On the 9th of August he was hospitalized in a rehabilitation centre in Newberg, Oregon to give up alcohol addiction. Later the great actor recognized publicly that he had been alcohol addicted.
2014 He was diagnosed with Parkinson Syndrome in an early stage. On the 11th of August Robin Williams was found dead in his house in Paradise Cay, Tiburon, California. It seems that death came due to a suicide by hanging. It was known that the actor was going through a depression. “Boulevard” (2014) was the last movie he played a role in.
