1967 On the 23rd of July Philip Seymour Hoffman was born at Fairport, New York, USA. He was a famous American actor of Hollywood who got two Oscar Awards, one Golden Globe and a BAFTA Prize. Standing out in independent productions but also in blockbusters, Philip Seymour Hoffman was one of the most appreciated actors of his generation.

2006 He got Oscar Award for the best actor as main character in “Capote”.

2008 He got the second Oscar Award for the best actor of a secondary role in “Charlie Wilson’s War”.

Out of Oscar, he also received a Golden Globe (and other three nominalizations), a BAFTA Prize (and other four nominalizations) and he was also a nominee of Primetime Emmy prizes.

2012 Hoffman started to consume again drugs after he had given up to this vice 23 years ago.

2013 On May he was hospitalized in a rehab clinic in order to treat his heroin addiction.

2014 On the 2nd of February Philip Seymour Hoffman passes away in New York, USA. The American actor was found dead in his flat. It seems that this happened because of a drug overdose according to New York Times. He has a rich filmography – he performed in more than 50 movies – standing out with many hard roles like “Great Lebowsi”, “Talented Sir Ripley”, “Two Perfect Men”, “Red Dragon”, “Cold Mountain”, “Impossible Mission III”, “Synecdoche, New York”, “Betrayers’ Day” or “Art of Defeat”.
