1937 On the 31st of December Philip Anthony Hopkins is born in Wales, Great Britain. He is one of the biggest actors of all time, having played various theater and movie roles.

1957 Anthony Hopkins graduates from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, at only 20 years old.

1959 Young Hopkins starts studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

1965 The actor starts working at the Royal National Theatre in London.

1967 Hopkins gets married for the first time. He has been married a total of three times over the years.

1968 He makes his movie start by playing Richard I in The Lion in Winter, among Katherine Hepburn and Peter O'Toole. In the same year he becomes father for the first time.

1975 The actor starts going to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, dealing with serious problems with alcohol.

1976 Hopkins wins his first Emmy award for the role in The Lindbergh Kidnapping Case.

1991 He gets maybe the most important role of his movie career, the one in Silence of the Lambs. The role brings him an Oscar and international fame. Over the years he won a total of 28 important awards.

1993 The movie The Remains of the Day gets him more nominations and has a huge success on both the audience and the critics. In the same year Hopkins gets knighted by the Queen of England for his services to acting.

2000 Hopkins becomes an american citizen.

2006 He receives a Golden Globe award for the whole career.

2011 The movie Thor is released with a huge commercial success.

2012 Hopkins stars in the biographical movie Hitchcock, at more than 70 years old.
